Boethius discusses many explanations to a lot of problems concerning evil in his book ‘the Consolation of Philosophy.’ He proposes a solution on how to tackle the problem concerning the difference between “Wisdom” and “Fate.”He elucidates the distinction between this two terms clearly and offers solutions on how to tackle evil in relation to differences between the two terms. In the Consolation of Philosophy,

Boethius distinguishes clearly between the notion of wisdom and fate by scrutinizing the magnitude each carries. “Wisdom refers to the celestial purpose that oversees everything else and is controlled by God while Fate refers to all things that can be altered in the universe and the nature by which wisdom controls them in an orderly manner. For Wisdom grasps everything similarly, however different or endless while fate in itself starts and judges the motion and the course of things which have their own time, form and place” (Green, p.91).
