The technological era has brought a lot changes to this world and the resources available. Nuclear technology is one which was meant to be used for the betterment of humans. The technology provides plenty of solutions, such as for generating electricity, medical applications, commercial applications, food processing, and many other facilities. But it is very risky as well, in the year 1986 the Chernobyl disaster occurred. The nuclear reactor which was meant to provide electricity for the Soviet Union exploded.

As a result there was an intense discharge of radioactivity in the atmosphere, and at first only two people had died due to the explosion, but as the radioactivity kept on emitting it started causing serious trouble for the areas far beyond it, due to the fallout. The effects of the blast were felt till the European continent, and as a result more than 300,000 people were resettled who were living in the surrounding places. And the incident is considered to be far more extensive and damaging than the bombing of Hiroshima and one of the worst scenarios the world had ever come across in the use of nuclear technology. For which it makes the nuclear technology one which is very expensive and extremely dangerous, and a misuse of such technology could even vanish a whole country from the face of earth (World Nuclear Association, 2008).
