The estimate of free cash flow for Wal-Mart has been done based on this model and the financial information has been taken from the financial statements of the company. The growth rates applied to the cash flow estimation model are assumed to be 2 percent for 2010 and 2011 and 3 percent for 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. These assumptions have been made with respect to an expected slow growth in the retail industry.

The only actual figures taken from the financial statements are those of 2009 and the growth rate has been applied to the subsequent years.
