SWOT Analysis

SWOT analysis is one of the most effective analytical models used to evaluate the internal and external environment of an organization. The factors that are considered in SWOT analysis are; strengths and weaknesses of the organization which are internal factors, and opportunities and threats faced by the organization which are external factors. The analysis is conducted to acquire an overall picture of the organization’s environment and it can also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of a particular project undertaken by the organization (Kew & Stredwick, 2005). It is a known fact that an organization cannot operate in an isolated environment and it is in continuous contact with the external environment of the organization, therefore it is highly important for the management of the organization to know whether the external environment of the organization is favorable or hostile (Balogun & Hailey, 2008). Thus, as a result, the management of the organization designs its objectives accordingly.
