Considering the scene, it is a reflection of the importance of Christianity at the time that a scene from the gospel was being represented. There is also use of symbolism which was important at the time with three windows on the back wall and apostles in groups of three, pointing to the holy trinity. Jesus’s head is located at the vanishing point for all perspective lines with angles and lights drawing attention to it.
