Essay: Legality of Drone Attacks in Pakistan under the International Law
Sample Essay
If we are to consider the legality of these attacks in terms of international law we must first consider that the United States by carrying out these attacks is infringing on the sovereignty of the Pakistani nation. They are effectively carrying out attacks in their borders without the consent of the Pakistani government.
There are arguments for and against this point however, one point in contention to this is that the Pakistani government has never truly given permission to the United States to carry out these attacks on the Pakistani front. However, in retrospect the Pakistani government though having denounced the attacks has not acted against United States interests in this matter. In fact they have openly even aided the United States with these attacks using their own military forces. As it is right now Pakistani government is remaining neutral on this matter refusing to comment on it[1].
