Essay: My Life Did Not Start Well

My life did not start out so well. It was quite insignificant owing to the fact that my family was very poor. We hardly had food to eat, let alone shelter above our heads or clothes to wear.

We were among those that the statistics of the day referred to as “those who live below the poverty line.” Furthermore, I was the lastborn in my family and so I did not have a say in many issues that concerned us. I was considered the baby of the home even after I celebrated my eighteenth birthday, and I could not possibly have anything worthwhile to say, or so my family members thought. Therefore, I kept to myself most of the times because no one would understand me.
