Sample Essay
Implementing of ISO 9001:2000 is not an easy task that is the reason why certain organisations fails to achieve it. Every growth and quality oriented organisation strives hard to achieve to implement international standards in their organisation and the implementing of ISO 9001:2000 can be considered as an achievement. However, there are certain factors that resist the implementation process of ISO 9001:2000. Elimination of these processes is essential because an organisation cannot implement ISO standards with these factors. The factors that resist an organisation to implement ISO 9001:2000 are discussed below:
Employee’s resistance: There are certain employees in the organisation that resist a change oriented decision because they possess a fear of the unknown. In the similar manner employees usually resist a quality oriented standard because they have to work hard and leave their lethargic attitude towards work (Braksick 2007). That is the reason why certain employees in an organisational structure resist the implementation of ISO 9001:2000.
Lack of managerial skills: Certain managers and even decision makers are not aware about the quality standards and what skills will be required by them when they are implementing an international standard like ISO 9001:2000 (Griffeth and Hom 2001). Therefore, they are not able to implement the standard or in certain scenarios when they are willing to implement the standards they are unable to convince the employees of the organisation.
