The organizational architecture can both mean an organization’s overall surrounding environment and the organization’s metaphorical concept of structure. It basically has two components which are closely linked to how an organization may be able to perform effectively and efficiently its own specific functions: the first one is the organizational space or architecture which basically pertains to the “spatial environment” surrounding the organization.

This is considered an important determinant of organizational success primarily because it affects the behavior, health and the mind of the people within and around the organization. This is one of the embedded principles of organizational theory which therefore pushes organizations to consider their organizational space/structure to be a critical indicator of the business’ success or failure (Žugaj & Schatten 2005).
