(Vonnegut)The ending of both the novels showed similarity once again, where the protagonists realized that there was no possible way that they could alter the chain of events or the course of life, but simply by accepting that this was how things were always meant to be. Where the novel Slaughterhouse Five realizes that,

If what Billy Pilgrim learned from the Tralfamadorians is true, that we will all live forever, no matter how dead we may sometimes seem to be, I am not overjoyed. Still—if I am going to spend eternity visiting this moment and that, I’m grateful that so many of those moments are nice. (Vonnegut)
