Essay: War between Egypt and Israel
Essay: War between Egypt and Israel
Sample Essay
The end of the first world war in 1945 marked the beginning of a third war between Egypt and it archenemy Israel. This war continued for four decades with each decade registering a different war.
This situation was saved by the then president of Egypt Anwar Sadat in 1977 when he agreed to sign a peace treaty between the two countries on grounds that Egypt could attain its goals using different avenues other than military aggressions and war thus stating his famous say “No more wars”[1]. This earmarked the beginning of Egypt’s active role in maintaining peace in the Middle East. Despite the fact that this step was not stimulated by Egypt’s craving for a peace per se, nor was it because of ideological changes within its government, national interests were the main drivers of this deal.
