I would additionally state that the author has completely shown his rigidity towards the government’s unfair usage of power and authority and has tried to awake the senses of awareness, in people to analyze what is not acceptable, hand not to be resilient by force but to be by choice. I am not what you call an activist but I do believe that every being has the responsibility to support his own belief and to protest what is encouraged to do by force.

Questions

Although the writings are thought provoking yet it compelled me to question the author also. Firstly, what made Thoreau so rigid against the governmental laws? And secondly why did he oppose the Mexican American war while being a national of the United States? Consequently, why didn’t he form a group to confront the law instead of doing it solely?
